Who qualifies as a Buyer?

  • Any natural or legal person with operations and external residence address.
  • Foreign Companies that as so accredited and accepted.
  • National companies accredited as Vendors (with purchased stand) who also register as buyers because of their business.
  • Delegates must be executive staff members duly accredited and resident abroad, except for national companies accredited as Vendors.

 

They are generally international representatives of the tourism sector, who have verifiable sales history; such as:

  • International Wholesalers
  • International Travel Agencies
  • International Travel Agents
  • Homes of Incentives
  • MICE Organizations
  • Events and Conventions Organizers (OPC)
  • Online Travel Agencies (OTA´s)  

 

How do I register as a Buyer?

  1. The applicants must complete the form online and fill all the profile data, answer all the questions and corresponding points.
  1. EXPOTUR will receive the request and will analize the company’s profile to accept or decline the participation of the company.
  1. The submission of the form does not representthe confirmation of qualifying as a buyer.

What does the Buyer Registration includes?

  • Transfers from the Juan Santamaría International Airport (SJO) to the official hotels.

Only Transfer In will be provided and will be available only for companies who provide previously the required information and in the time set by EXPOTUR.

  • Two days of face to face negotiations with the principal providers of tourism services of Costa Rica and some other countries of the region.
  • Online system for setting up appointments with Exhibitors and Sellers.
  • Daily transfers Official Hotels – Venue – Official Activities – Official Hotels, with pre-established schedules.  View information about schedules and routes
  • Educational seminars offered with relevant topics to the tourism industry.

 The buyers will be able to assist to these without any additional cost and to participate it is required to make previous reservation through the Online System.

  • Themed Pre and Post Inspections to the most relevant destinations of Costa Rica, what offers an excellent option of familiarization with the destiny, to a very low cost.

To participate, you must pay the appropriate fee and complete a reservation through the Online System.

  • Discounts and special rates for hotels during the event dates. View information about special rates for hotels
  • Discounts and special airline rates during the event dates. View information about special airline rates
  • Official Social and Cultural Activities. Buyers may attend to these with no additional cost.  

 

What are the Rates to Participate as a Buyer?

To participate as a buyer in EXPOTUR, the participant must pay the set amount as appropriate.

What are my duties as a Buyer?

  • Filling out the registration form Online
  • Pay the due registration fee at least 2 months before the start of the event. It should be done through the online system, in case of difficultiesa Credit Card Authorization may be made by theInternational Sales Department.
  • Buyers must make a minimum of 15 appointments or attend to seminars and daily cultural activities during the two days of negotiations.
  • Meet the criteria that ACOPROT (organizing entity) points for the event. Buyers must comply appropriately and in the best way the regulations dictated by the organization.

 

 

Which is the Policy of Cancellation of Participation and Refund?

  • Any applicant who does not receive the Board’s approval of participation will have the right to reimbursement of a 100% of the quota.
  • The voluntary cancellations of the participants, received up to 130 working days before the opening date will have a 25% refund.
  • After this date no money will be refunded, except in special cases justified before the Costa Rican Association of Tourism Professionals.
